---|---|
Yume no naka de jibun wa ippiki no yodaka da. Takaku, tooku e tobiagerou to suru mo, aru toki wa kumo o nuketa atari de, Aru toki wa tsuki ni mo furesou na koro ni, habataku ude wa tsui ni chikaradzuki, rakka o hajime. Sakasama no chiheisen to urokogumo o, yuuhi ga awaku somete iru. | In the dream, I am a single nighthawk.[1] Though I fly high and far, just as I've pierced through the clouds, As I'm about to touch the moon, my flapping arms suddenly tire and I begin falling. The upside-down horizon and cirrocumulus clouds are lightly dyed by the setting sun. |
itsuka kiita uta o kuchizusande iru. Hoho o naderu natsu no kaze to, sekai ni afureta oto dake o tayori machi o aruku. | humming a song I once heard. Relying only on the summer wind stroking my cheek and the sounds that the world is overflowing with, I walk through the town. |
byou ni oboe no aru teiryuujou ni suwatte iru. Kakaete iru mono wa nan darou ka. | somehow I'm sitting at a strangely familiar bus stop. I wonder what the thing is that I'm holding. |
Naraba, chuushi wa narubeku youzoku de nai hou ga ii. Bakudan demo haitte iru koto ni shiyou. | In that case, what's inside must be no ordinary thing. There could even be a bomb in there. |
isu dake ga futatsu okareta heya da. Tatta mama, me no mae ni iru dareka to, futari de, nanika daiji na hanashi o shite iru. Dokoka subete ga natsukashiku omou. | with only two chairs left in it. Standing, I'm having a somehow important conversation with the person in front of me. Somehow it all seems nostalgic. |
Nagaku, fukai nemuri ni tsuita saki no yume no naka de, boku wa tada, tooi kako no jibun o kaimamite iru. Ima koko ni iru boku mo, itsuka dareka no zense to naru no darou ka. | In the dream that I have when I'm in a long, deep sleep, I am just catching glimpses of my distant past. I wonder if my current self will be somebody's past life too someday. |
These lyrics appear in the booklet but are not sung; the track has no vocals. [1] A reference to Miyamoto Kenji's story "The Nighthawk Star" ("Yodaka no Hoshi"). The story is also referenced in "Kutsu no Hanabi" from the previous mini-album.
