Original / Romaji Lyrics | English Translation |
---|---|
Sayuu ni kakiwaketeku [1] Watashi wa ano koro kara kimi wo mane shitakute Sukoshi togarashita kuchibiru de saki e tsukisusumu [2] | The lights and shadows of this world [1] Since that time I've wanted to be like you Pushing your way forward with slightly pursed lips [2] |
Uso no sakanai sougen wo Yume no naka de mita koto ga aru Soko de kimi wo matteru | A plain as wide as my eyes can see Where lies will not blossom I'm waiting for you there |
Ano hi kimi ga itta I love you Machikirenai yo kouhan SUTAATO | Began that day when you said "I love you" I can't wait patiently for the start of the second half |
Ano uso mitai na I love you Kiite itai yo zutto zutto | I want to hear that dubious "I love you" Until the end, always always |
Koe ni daseba sukoshi wa kanarazu tsutawaru hazu Ma mo naku tokiakasareru shinjitsu Issho ni tashikameyou Me ga sametemo kanashikunai sekai ga [3] Futari wo matteru | But when carried by voice, at least a little should certainly be conveyed Let's ascertain together The truth that will soon to be revealed Even waking up to it brings no sadness [3] Such a world is waiting for the two of us |
Ano hi ienakatta I love you Oitsukenai yo RASUTO SUPOOTO | The "I love you" I could not say that day I can't catch up to it even with my last spurt |
Mou usotsuki demo I love you Soba ni itai yo zutto zutto | Already a liar, but I love you I want to be by your side, always always |
Ano hi kimi ga itta I love you Machikirenai yo kouhan SUTAATO | Began that day when you said "I love you" I can't wait patiently for the start of the second half |
Ano hi kimi ga itta I love you Oikakechau yo zutto zutto | The "I love you" you said that day I can't help chasing after it, always always |
Translator's notes:
Title: "Uso mitai na" literally means "like a lie," which I believe isn't entirely false. I use "dubious" to avoid making the title too long.
[1] "Chijou" literally means "above ground." There is a homonym that means "blind love."
[2] "Togarashita" is colloquial for "togaraseta," meaning "sharpened," but usage in Japanese is similar to that of "pursed" in English.
[3] In Japanese, it actually says "A world where we're not sad even if we wake up to it."
