For the sake of what are they risking their lives, and fighting for...? |

For the sake of what are they risking their lives, and fighting for...? |
Nani ga umeawasu no darou Ushinau tsurasa dake ni itsuka wa Ikiru yuuki sae mo nakusu Nan no tame ni nagasu no ka, chi to namida wo Nan no tame ni inochi kakete, tatakau no darou...... | A battle that snatch away everything? Just the pain of the loss will, someday, Even make lose the courage of living For the sake of what are they shed for, this blood and those tears? For the sake of what are they risking their lives, and fighting for...? |
(1) Literal translation: "A rusty wind is running through the crimson wastelands".
Mitsumete Knight being a story of war and love taking place in middle ages where sword fighting is the fighting norm, I chose to fully show the implied meaning of the Japanese stanza in the translation.
(2) "Tomodachi" (friends), sung as such in the song, is written in the Japanese lyrics as "Senyuutachi" (companions of war, comrades in arms, war comrades, war buddies). I chose to go with the written version, more fitting for the context of the song.
(3) Literal translation: "Is made of tears played softly".
