* An "ondo" can be translated as a "workmen's song" or a "marching song,"
but an "ondo" has such a distinctly Japanese flavor to it that I decided
to leave the word as is. "Pekopon," incidentally, is the name the alien
invaders in Keroro Gunsou call Earth.
** In Japanese, this is a series of sound-related puns that have little to do with one another. In English, to reflect this, I changed "tenbatsu" ("divine punishment") to the nonsense word "wrathery," and "habatsu" ("political faction") to the nonsense word "politicality." I'm not sure what "hanamaru" really means, but Nihonmaru actually refers to the flagship of 1592 war commander Kuki Yoshitaka. It can also refer to the red sun, or "spot," that appears on the Japanese flag, so I decided to use that to help with the rhyming schema.
