Lyrics from Animelyrics.comToumei ga yozora somete
hitori aruku itsumo no kaerimichi
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comTransparency dyes the night sky, and
I walk alone on the road that always leads home.
|
Lyrics from Animelyrics.comKuchizusamu konna kimochi
nemuru kimi ni todoketai na OH... UM...
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comSinging to myself, I want to send these kinds of feelings
to you in your sleep, oh, um...
|
Lyrics from Animelyrics.comNanika ni obieteru jibun ga chotto iya ni naru
tsugeru omoi torinokoshita hibi ni...
dokoka ni wasureteru kokoro ga chotto itakunaru
toki wo tsunagu hoshi no yoru ni kimi wo sagashiteru
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comI'm tangled up in something; I'm getting a little sick of myself --
tangled up in the feelings to convey to those days that have been left behind...
The heart I've forgotten somewhere is starting to hurt a little.
I keep searching for you in a night lit by the stars that are bound to that time.
|
Lyrics from Animelyrics.comToozakaru kumo ni nosete
boku no kimochi tachidomaru kaerimichi
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comI place my feelings on the receding clouds
on the road home, where I pause to stand.
|
Lyrics from Animelyrics.comKimi wa mou yume no tsuzuki
todoku hazu mo nai koto da to wakatteiru
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comYou are already a part of my continuing dreams;
I know that (those feelings) can't possibly reach you from here.
|
Lyrics from Animelyrics.comNamida ga koboreteru egao ga chotto hoshikunaru
kimi no soba ni ireru dake de boku wa...
Dareka ga toikakeru rikutsu ga motto hoshikunaru
kieru kage ni mabushisugita hibi wo utsushiteru
| Lyrics from Animelyrics.comThe tears keep falling; jut by being able to be close to you,
I'm starting to want a smile, just a little...
Someone asks questions; I'm starting to want this to make more sense.
You cast those too-brilliant days into a fading shadow.

Translation notes:
Thanks to Kaijyuu M for taking a look at my translation and offering corrections; any mistakes left are completely my responsibility! Several things were tricky to wrestle with:
1. Obieteru - The kanji used is like the kanji for obi (tie). But as a verb form, that becomes obiru (tie, wear, carry, be burdened with, be stained with). Obieteru sounds as though it came from obieru (be afraid of). But since I'd prefer to get the meaning from the kanji rather than the pronunciation, I took it as the other half of a pair, like kesu/kieru or miru/mieru. After much wrestling, I decided "tangled up in" seemed like it best fit the tone of the song.
2. The parallel stanzas (nanika ni obieteru... and namida ga koboreteru...) seemed to have some inversions built into both of them. (At least, the third line of each seemed to start a new thought and the second line seemed to need part of the first line as a verb.) So I did some section-shuffling there.
3. Rikutsu ga motto hoshikunaru: I think that means something like "I'm starting to want something about this relationship to make more sense," but that was a lot of extrapolating, so I left the translation more vague.
4. Kieru kage ni mabushisugita hibi wo utsushiteru -- It could be argued that the unspecified topic/caster of the shadow is "I", "you", or something about the relationship. I had to flip a coin based on what I thought the rest of the song felt like, and I can't really explain why I thought it ought to be the singer's "you" other than "it felt like an equivalent inversion" (casting a "shadow" of light, things vanishing into the brilliance rather than the darkness, and someone else's actions being what the singer is trying not to be nostalgic about.) If you want to read it another way, feel free...
