SUPUUTONIKU
|
Original / Romaji Lyrics | English Translation |
---|---|
S nim izchezaiet vsio: Ego pervyi sneg, Ego pervyi pocelui, Ego pervaia draka [1] ) | Everything disappears with him: His first snow, His first kiss, His first fight. [1]) |
ima omoidashite-ta supuutoniku[2] no raikaken namae wa nante itta no ka na? anata no senaka wo mitsume nagara yatto kizuita moo aenaitte koto | A story I heard when I was small The laika dog on Sputnik[2] What was its name again? While gazing at you from behind I finally realized That we will never see each other again |
boku wa saki ni iku yo kurooka kurooka kitto kaette kite | I'll[4] be there ahead of you Kloka Kloka Surely you'll come back |
honto ni aishite-ru no ni nan'no tame ni to ka dooshite toka kangaerarenai moo | I love you truly yet For what Or why I can't think anymore |
dareka no tsuyoi negai to supuutoniku no raika-ken nidoto akanai tobira ga shimaru anata no shiranai tooi basho de kurashite-ku nante onaji kimochi ni narenai nante | And someone's uncompromising wishes The laika dog on Sputnik Doors which will never again open now close To think that I must go on living In some distant place unfamiliar to you That we can never feel the same things |
kon'na ni aishite-ru no ni mienai yami e to ano mabushii toki mo kieru | I love you so much yet Into an unseen darkness Even those brilliant times fade away |
boku wa kurooka kurooka kitto | I'll be Kloka Kloka Surely |
suikomarete shimau mienai yami e to atatakatta yuki no hi mo kiete-ku | Everything is swallowed away Into an unseen darkness Even that warm snowy day goes on fading |
honto ni aishite-ru no ni nan'no tame ni to ka dooshite toka kangaerarenai moo | I love you truly yet For what Or why I can't think anymore |
[1] Excerpt from a poem by the Russian poet Evtushenko.
[2] Sputnik II was one of the first artificial satellites in space. It's only passenger was a dog. Launched November 3rd, 1957 by the Soviets. The dog never made it back to the Earth alive. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sputnik_2#Passenger)
[3] Name of the dog that was supposedly launched on the Soyuz 2 on October 25, 1968 by the Soviets, and then went missing during the mission. This story turns out to be a hoax though, developed as part of a 'modern art exercise' by the Spanish artist Joan Fontcuberta. It should be noted that the Evtushenko poem was also part of this art exhibit. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Cosmonauts#Ivan_Istochnikov)
[4] The "I" in this line is masculine and indicates that the singer is repeating what her lover said to her before he left.
